Who spent all his days drawing in 2D CAD
He knew how to make it do this and do that
Regardless his designs came out lifeless and flat
While it got the job done it seemed to him very boring and sad.
Then one fateful year Christmas came early
A license for SolidWorks, all shiny and pearly!
Now able to build what his mind could unfold
A digital throwback to the Legos of old
The sky is the limit - little, big, simple, boxy, curvy or swirly.
In local user groups and blogs of wise men
Word was quickly spreading, whispers of legend
A mythical gathering known as SolidWorks World 2010!A place where knowledge and tips and tricks ran free
A high tech and innovative community
Chad longed to attend, no matter the cost
But the ultimate challenge - pitching it to the boss!
Just then a message from heaven, his own golden ticket
'Internet Correspondent Contest' - if only he could win it!
Surely such a privilege would get the selling points across.
"So you really think you stand a chance?" asked Manager Jim
Chad gathered what evidence he had and returned with a grin
Filming would be easy; he'd done weddings and weekends with friends
Tweeting, blogging, and Facebook - on social media his life depends!
Still, he'd need a fair amount of luck to pull off the win."One more question - what's in it for you??" - Jim's final protest
"That one is easy - to learn from the very brightest and best!
Not to mention new friends, great food, and a chance to branch out,
Warm, sunny weather and guest speakers are what it's all about!
Now with my fingers crossed and one final click, I submit my request!"-Jeromie 'Chad' Hamann

When you said you wrote two poems, I never expected something like this. Nice work.
ReplyDeleteJeromie,
ReplyDeleteI like the poem, great work and thanks for the well wishes. Hopefully my updates will be as entertaining as this poem. With luck you can still make it to SWW10 (first time competition?) and when you do make sure to drop me a line.
