I was hanging with a friend on Friday when he got a call from a friend of a friend of a friend. She and her friend work at the Aveda Institute, and needed a guy that was up for taking a risk... Next thing I know, it's 9:20 am and I'm walking into the Aveda Institute, asking where the models go! (I only had a few hours... I made sure to milk it for all it was worth!) After a few minutes of waiting in the lobby, I was introduced to my friend 5-times-removed (me->Richard->Kelly-> [?] ->Katie->Libby), who led me back to the modeling area and filled me in on what I needed to do.
I was a little worried when I learned that being an Aveda Hair Model (AHM) actually only consisted of having your hair cut by someone that's never done it before, but by then it was a little too late to back out! Besides, she did a great job. Plus, I got a free haircut. And shampoo! And a back and scalp massage! Sweet!!
I sent Katie a text, thanking her for setting the whole thing up, and she replied by saying that
"[Libby] kept going on about how nice you are!"
Score. Especially from a girl that cuts hair, plays lacrosse, and surfs. Even though I'll probably never see her again.

I'm catching up on my blogs, and I just read this post. Wow...you are one crazy kid.
ReplyDeleteI just realized that I wasn't subscribed to your blog! That has been remedied, and this is really funny.
