This week marked the start of our company's own Biggest Loser challenge. Whoever loses the highest percentage of weight in three months wins $200!
Being the competitive person that I am, I was sure to stock up on all kinds of extra food the week before the weigh-in. And then there's the fact that I had believed our broken, 40-year-old, don't-really-know-where-it-came-from scale, which very kindly (yet dishonestly) tells you that you're 15 pounds less than you are. After the initial shock gaining an instant 15 pounds, I quickly realized it was yet another advantage - more weight that I can (and should [and will!]) lose. I've got my gym membership, the fridge is loaded with good stuff, and I've got (hopefully) all the competition and motivation I need! The discipline is always the hardest part, and something I've never been very good at, but there's always a first, right?!
A note to all of our loving bakers/cookers:
EY and I have very frequently been given gifts of cookies and other edible goods during the course of our stay here at Holmes Ave. These gifts have always been and will continue to be greatly appreciated!! However, due to the nature of the competition, we will no longer be eating them ourselves. Know that we will continue to take in all of the love and care sent with the packages! But the food itself will be passed on to hungry friends, the neighborhood homeless community, and competition rivals in an attempt to better my odds of winning.
