Financial Insights

A personal goal of mine:

Debt free by September 2010

Given student loans, a car, and my current wages, I would need to live the next 15 months off of ~$5,000. Probably not happening.

That leaves me with 2 options:

1. Fewer expenses. More groceries, less eating out. Books from the library, not movies from Redbox. Drive slower to use less gas. And so on...

2. More income. This one seems a little easier (and a little more fun!). Website design/technical support. A second job waiting tables, making lattes, or tending bars. Selling plasma or signing up for [low risk] medical experiments. Cutting the chord with my old basketball card collection. Advertisements on my blog...

[j/k on that last one. Online advertisements only work with audiences > 5.]

Perhaps the goal is a bit unrealistic, but that's the goal, right? Set it high enough so that you have to stretch for it. So... anyone have any suggestions?? I'm pretty open at this point, so please share any ideas you might have!

  1. Dude, you totally can do it. Especially the medical experimentation. And really, that could provide you with future cost savings too. Chances are you'll become sterile in some way, then you won't have to worry about the costs that come with having children right? ;) Jk man jk. I think it's perfectly safe and quite lucrative.

  2. You're really going to get a second job?
