What's the point?!

I read today an excerpt from the Huffington Post that boiled down to the following:

In the next year, the earth is 4,000 times more likely to be completely destroyed by an asteroid than I am to win the lottery.

Now I try to be an optimist, but sometimes the odds are just too much. I really hope i didn't wreck your day as well. But if I did, try to look on the bright side - there's a 1 in 7000 chance that after tomorrow you'll never have to worry about anything ever again!
